OpenLint

An open specification and toolbox for linting API artifacts — rulesets, conformance, and governance for OpenAPI and the formats around it. A community fork of Spectral, developed and stewarded in the open.

The name was chosen by open community vote, concluding September 2026. The effort names three things that no longer have to share a fate with any one company: a specification a ruleset can conform to, the tooling that applies it — a linter as a library, a CLI, a CI gate, an IDE integration — and the community that carries both.

This page is deliberately a hello world. The work is just beginning: the roadmap is being drafted now, and everything — the spec, the tools, the governance — will happen in public on GitHub.
